OVERVIEW: NAACP is the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Their goal is to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.

We partnered up with NAACP to auction our illustrations that are inspired by African American singers & designers.

PROBLEM: To create an impact illustration telling the story of African American courageous history and powerful words to encourage others. The goal of this illustration is to incorporate both African American singer (James Brown) and designer (LeRoy Winbush).

SOLUTION: With various research of both singer and designer, I wanted to design something empowering that encourage people to be proud of who they are.

RESULT: With the situation going on in the world today, I think it good to put some encouraging positive words into the world to remain them to be proud of who they are and where they come from. So the final result is a paintbrush painting out the affirmative words.
